When JULES JENSON, a quirky aspiring actress about to turn thirty, finds herself still struggling to make her dreams come true, she takes drastic measures to stand out. Only when her life completely unravels, does she figure out who she truly wants to be.
A LETTER FROM AMBERLEE
In my mid-twenties, I was certain I needed to find my place in the world. My hope was to have it all figured out by thirty...or at the very least be at a place that was fulfilling, lucrative and… alongside Oprah if possible. Naïve? Little bit. High expectations? Um, definitely. I mean, I knew Ms. Winfrey was a long shot, but dreaming is part of the artist's job description, right? Nevertheless, my idea of success and the pressure I put on myself to achieve it made my life...uh...fun. And by "fun" I do mean hungover with constant disappointment. (Got to love your 20's.) The good news is that this over-achieving mindset was the birth place and foundation of my main character, Jules Jenson. She has her life all figured out, she just needs everyone else to get on board. As she struggles through the challenges of Hollywood, she comes to realize that she may not know everything, and that may be a good thing. |
